Under the direction of the Operational Excellence Executive, the Regional Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for providing support to the Operational Excellence team, project management team, supervisors and workers. This position will be required to lead all day-to-day safety requirements of the corporation including but not limited to policies and procedures, COR certifications (nationally), training/ orientations, incident tracking/investigations, recommendations of corrective actions, safety compliance, and involvement with the HSE best practices and procedures. Other duties maybe assigned as required. Core Competencies Rigging and Telecom Industry Best Practices Underground and overhead utilities Leadership Communication Analytical skills Probability and decision-making skills High level of accuracy Organizational skills Stress management skills COR program Work Duties - Provide support to the project/ construction management team by maintaining a visible presence and following up on their requests. - Manage and lead the overall national HSE training program. - May conduct training for on-boarding field employees while ensuring all requirements are up to date. - Management of all PPE equipment nationally. - Involved in the development of job procedures, methods of procedure, and overall field safety document templates required. - Completes prequalification documentation required for Avetta, Comply-works, ISNetworld etc. - Attends and is involved with Joint Health Safety Committee meetings (all regions). - Ongoing review of the WesTower HSE Manual, confirming that it is up to date and addressing any identified issues including any training and rollouts required. - Regularly review and is familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards, to ensure compliance. - Informs the project management team and supervision of any new or conflictive legislative matters that could impact their projects. - Provide support and resource to the field to Operations. - Participate and assist supervisors and key safety reps in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary. - Ensure all incident investigations are completed as per company policies and procedures. - Prepare for and lead all COR and/or Owner audits. - Periodic review of Safety Server structure and documents. - Development of training programs and overall training strategy. - Promote Long Term and Short-Term Safety Incentive Program. - Ensure customer specific training is available. Requirements - Minimum 5 years? experience in Wireless/Wireline Telecom or Similar. - Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma or Certificate or CRSP. - National Construction Safety Officer Certificate (NCSO). - Minimum 5 years of Health and Safety experience. - Experienced with the use of SiteDocs application. - Proficient in Microsoft office applications and reporting. - COR Auditor experience required. - The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities. - Good physical condition. - Ability to travel. Working Conditions - Physical ability to lift 25lbs. - Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals. - This position is base in Edmonton, AB with a move to Spruce Grove, AB in 2024. #J-18808-Ljbffr
